Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has been left stunned by one extreme saver’s money-saving hack.
Watch the pennies and the pounds look after themselves – one of life’s little saving tips. But one saving expert has gone to the extreme in her aims to save money.
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has been on the hunt to find some of the countries most extreme savers and has found Charlotte Jessop who controversially reuses her toilet paper.
The saver who appears on Martin Lewis’ Extreme Savers claims to have saved her family thousands by putting her reusable toilet roll in the washing machine to wash off the filth.

It started when her eldest daughter was born. Charlotte explained she was looking at eco-friendly solutions that would also save her money and began making her own nappies.
This then progressed onto something more ambitious when she boldly then went one massive step further by getting rid of normal toilet paper for the reusable kind.
Reported in The Mirror, The super saver explained, “It feels a little scary to start off with. But we were using these cloths as wet wipes, for our kids. So actually, we felt like, ‘Oh why would that suddenly change when they’re out of nappies?’
“And if it’s good enough for them, why is it not good enough for me?”

Charlotte claims to have saved £230 on sanitary products in the last three years, £400 on loo roll, £200 on switching from laundry detergent and a further £280 on nappies.
Martin says: “I find her efforts genuinely impressive, both financially and for the environment, admirable, even. But I’m not sure even I’m quite ready for reusable loo roll.”

With another adding: “Reusable toilet roll, jeez the money you save on toilet roll you need to spend on a new washing machine every time you wash those toilet wipes.”
“Imagine putting the loo roll through the washing machine! I know we put dirty clothes in it but not that,” said a third.
The show airs on Wednesdays on ITV at 8pm.
