Black Friday takes place on November 26 this year, but many shops start the sale early.

MSE’s deals predictor looks at the dates for sales for previous years at top retailers.

It uses that information to then predict this year’s sale dates, with accuracy of 81%, guessing the exact day, or being “marginally out”.

But the experts do say an unpredictable year and shortages mean shoppers should “take a slightly bigger pinch of salt”.

Gap could launch it’s sale on Tuesday, November 23 giving shoppers up to 50% off full price items as it’s offered this discount for the last two years.

You’ll now only be able to shop at Gap online as it’s closed all its stores in the UK.

Sainsbury’s Black Friday sale is also expected on the same day with up to 25% of its Tu clothing range offered over the past three years.

You can also get Tu clothing from Argos, as it’s owned by the same company. But Argos itself may not offer any deals as it didn’t in 2019 or 2020, MSE say.

Marks and Spencer is expected to kick off its Black Friday sales on the same day.

The exact deals on offer are not quite so easy to predict though, as last year it offered a wider range than previous years, across beauty, home and fashion, with up to 50%.

Nike usually offers a code to get money off full price and sale items, and MSE say this is likely to come around November 23 as well.

Clothes shops ASOS, H&M and Matalan are expected to launch their Black Friday deals a day before on Thursday, November 25.

And expected on Black Friday itself, is Disney, Urban Outfitters and Apple.

Don’t forget that if you’re shopping online that you might have to pay extra for delivery on top of what you buy.

Of course, just because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

And if you didn’t plan to buy it anyway, you’re not really saving money.
